Import CRM contacts
Overview
Use the contact import flow to map columns, preview records and decide how duplicate contacts should be handled before completing the import.
Where to find it
For the included contact view, open Nonprofit workspace > People & Partnerships > Contacts. Eligible organizations can choose Open CRM there to enter Advanced CRM through GoodAction sign-on.
How it works
- Open Contacts in the intended CRM workspace and start Import.
- Upload the supported file and map every source column to the correct contact field.
- Preview all rows, review validation issues and select which records should be included.
- Choose the offered duplicate behavior, including update or skip, and apply tags when needed.
- Start the import and review the final created, updated, skipped and failed counts.
Important details
Always confirm the CRM workspace before editing or importing. Contact data can include personal information: collect only what is needed, avoid unnecessary exports, use permissions appropriately and follow consent requirements for email.
If something does not look right
- Confirm the signed-in profile and current workspace shown in the page header.
- Capture the page address, time and exact visible error.
- Do not include passwords, API keys, bank details or full card data.
- Ask GoodAction Support when the expected control remains unavailable or the saved result differs from this article.
